This study aims to analyze the communication method of Jeong Ho-seung’s poetry. The fact that his poems continue to be read in many people’s interest implies that there is a point forming a bond of sympathy among the readers. And yet, there are insufficient studies of objective analysis regarding this. Thus, in order to understand his poems properly, a work analyzing characteristics of the language used in the actual poems closely should precede, breaking away from sentimental evaluations of them as ‘poems of comfort and solace’ and ‘impressive poems.’ Bearing this in mind, the researcher paid attention to postpositions, ‘―에게,’ ‘―위하여’ and ‘―대하여’ in titles and poetic narrators of sentence endings, ‘―하라’ and ‘―마라’ in Jeong Ho-seung’s poetry, with which there have been insufficient studies till now. Like this, it is expected that analyzing the poems from the linguistic aspect has a significance as an opportunity for Jeong Ho-seung’s poetry to break away from the level of having stayed on a fragmentary or sentimental dimension till now.

이 논문은 정호승 시의 소통 방법을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 그의 시가 많은 이들의 관심 속에 지속적으로 읽히는 것은 독자들에게 공감대를 형성하는 어떠한 지점이 있다는 것을 암시한다. 하지만 이와 관련하여 객관적으로 분석한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 그의 시를 제대로 이해하기 위해서는 ‘위로와 위 안이 되는 시’, ‘감동적인 시’라는 감상적 평가에서 벗어나 실제 시에 사용된 언어의 특성을 면밀히 분석하는 작업이 선행되어야 한다. 필자는 지금까지 연구가 미흡했던 정호승 시의 「―에게」와 「―위하여」 그리고 「―대하여」 제목과 종결어미, ‘―하라’, ‘―마라’의 시적 화자에 주목을 했다. 그들은 선험적·초월적 주체로서 ‘우리’라는 공동체 의식을 일깨우고 위로와 위안 그리고 성찰의 소통을 모색하는 특징이 있었다.
