The purpose of this study is to investigate the new creative writing education plan using a theory on film creation. The creative writing model starts from the three-act constructive theory of Syd Field, a representative theory of movie writing techniques in Hollywood. The study investigated the existing research on writing education in universities. A review of earlier studies on creative writing education are presented in Chapter I. Chapter II discusses the concept and functions of the three-act structure of Syd Field and examines ways of using them in actual writing classes. Based on the findings, a creative writing instruction model using the three-act structure is developed in Chapter III along with the introduction of actual instruction cases. In Chapter IV, the significance and limitations of the instruction model are presented and intended to deduce tentative conclusion. The creative writing instruction model using movies that were represented as written criticism is expected to develop through discussions. Moreover, creative writing instruction is expected to arouse continuous interest in writing, as it is a significant creative experience for the students.

이 연구의 목적은 영화 창작 이론을 활용하여 새로운 창의적 글쓰기 교육 방안을 모색하는 것에 있다. 본 연구의 창의적 글쓰기 모형은 할리우드 영화 작법의 대표적 이론이라 할 수 있는 시드 필드의 3막 구성론에서 출발한다. 이에, 1장에서는 먼저 기존의 대학 글쓰기 교육 연구의 현황을 파악하고, 창의적 글쓰기 교육에 대한 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 2장에서는 시드 필드의 3막 구성론 개념과 기능을 살펴보았다. 또한 이를 실제 글쓰기 수업에서 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 그 방안을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 3장에서는 3막 구성법을 활용한 창의적 글쓰기 수업 모형을 계발하고, 4장에서는 실제 수업 진행 사례를 소개하였다. 5장에서는 본 연구의 의의와 한계를 고찰하면서 잠정적 결론을 도출하고자 하였다. 이러한 논의를 통해 비평문으로 대표되던 영화 활용 창의적 글쓰기 수업 모형을 조금 더 확장할 수 있으리라 기대한다. 나아가 이러한 창의적 글쓰기 수업이 학생들에게 유의미한 창조의 체험으로 남아 글쓰기에 대한 지속적인 흥미를 유도할 수 있기를 소구한다.
