This article presents military officers' satisfaction and recognition of effectiveness in child daycare centers. The 1,424 survey questionnaires were applied in order to evaluate the degrees of satisfaction and recognition among the caregivers in term of four domains: teachers, environments, programs, and administrations. The results show that the respondents' satisfaction levels of using child daycare centers in the army is higher than those of general child daycare centers around the country. Furthermore, they recognize that cares and education services of military child daycare centers are likely to be effective for a balance between work and family. The levels of recognitions for the effectiveness of the services are much more significant among dual-income families, both in family and work life dimensions. The findings propose that customized childcare facilities focused on the needs of military families should be launched with enhanced training programs toward the teachers. Finally, the study suggests that reliable and valid scales need to be developed in order to measure the effectiveness of the child daycare centers in the army.

본 연구에서는 군 어린이집 이용 부모를 대상으로 교직원 영역, 물리적 환경 영역, 보육 프로그램 영역, 운영 영역 등 4부분에 걸친 이용 만족도를 파악하고, 군 어린이집 이용 후 경험한 효과성 실태를 함께 조사하였다. 군 어린이집 이용자 1,424명을 대상으로 설문 조사한 결과, 군 어린이집 이용자들의 만족도는 일반적인 어린이집 이용자들의 만족도에 비해 높은 수준인 것으로 나타났으며, 군 어린이집 효과성에 대한 인식도 가정 내 영역과 직장 및 사회적 영역 모두에서 상당히 긍정적인 것으로 평가되었다. 효과성 인식은 맞벌이 가구 여부에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었는데, 맞벌이 가구인 경우 효과성 인식 수준이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들을 토대로 향후 우리나라 군 보육시설 이용자들의 이용만족도와 효과성 인식 수준을 향상시켜 이용자 중심의 사회서비스로서 군 어린이집이 자리매김할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하였다.
