This study examined the characteristics of Buddhist books printed using wooden type during the Joseon Dynasty period from a bibliographical perspective. It was found that there are 24 kinds of Buddhist books published using wooden type during the Joseon Dynasty period that currently exist. In terms of the types used for publication, there were 6 kinds of printed editions by Eulyuja type, 3 kinds of printed editions by Inkyongja, 6 kinds of printed editions by Bokwangsaja, 2 kinds of printed editions by Bonginsaja, 6 kind of printed editions of Buddhist Monk books by different wooden type. Among them, The Buddhist books printed using Eulyuja type and Bogwangsaja were 50 % of total with the highest quantity of 12 kinds. In terms of periods of publication, it was found that 9 kinds and 15 kinds of Buddhists books were published respectively in the first and latter parts of Joseon Dynasty periods. Among them, there were 14 kinds of editions published during the King Sejo and Kojong period that occupied 58% of total. Such a phenomenon was deeply due to King Sejo's Buddhism-friendly tendency and shows that continuous Buddhistic service with court ladies were continued through the whole Dynasty to King Kojong.

이 연구는 조선시대 목활자로 간인한 불교서적에 대해서 서지학적 측면에서 그 특징을 고찰한 것이다. 조선시대 목활자로 간행한 불교서적은 모두 24종이 현전한 것으로 조사되 었다. 이를 간행에 사용한 활자별로 분석해 보면, 을유자체자본이 6종, 인경자본이 3종, 보광사자본이 6종, 봉인사자본이 2종으로 파악되었으며, 그리고 고승문집이 6종이 목활자 로 인출된 사실이 밝혀졌다. 그 중 을유자체자와 보광사자로 간인된 불서가 12종으로 가장 많은 수량을 보이고 있어 전체 50%를 차지하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 이를 간행 시기로 분석한 결과, 조선전기에는 9종이, 조선후기에는 15종의 불교서적이 간행된 것으로 파악되었다. 이 중 세조와 고종 대에 간행된 목활자본은 14종으로 조사되어 전체 58%를 차지하고 있다. 이러한 현상은 세조의 호불적 성향과 깊은 관계가 있으며, 고종대의 상궁 을 중심으로 왕실에 여전히 신불 행위가 지속해 오고 있음을 알 수 있다.
