This study aims to look at the communication and collaboration activities that appear in a learning community. Theoretical approach based on Strauss &Clobin (1998), qualitative research methods were utilized. The primary data for the study conducted in Qualitative Research Activities were obtained through students activities observation, students depth interviews, and 'collaborative learning epilogue' that students wrote after community learning. Through a systematic process of data categorization and data coding (open coding, axial coding, and selective coding) core categories, causal factors, and the final phenomena were derived as a result. Core phenomena of students' community learning activities were active communication and collaborative activities between members. Causal factors were passion for solving problems, co-challenges, creative ideas of the team, and the need for collaboration. Students got positive results such as creative problem solving, self-confidence acquisition, and learning the problem solving methods.

본 연구는 우리사회에 늘 발생하는 문제들에 대한 해결능력을 키우는 데 있어서 협업활동과 의사소통능력이 중요하게 역할함을 전제로, 이를 활성화 할 수 있는 방법으로 학습공동체 활동을 적용하였으며, 학습공동체 활동 안에 서 나타나는 의사소통과 협업활동이 어떻게 전개되는지를 살펴 보았다. 연구 방법은 질적 연구 방법을 활용하였으며 Strauss & Clobin(1998)의 근 거이론적 접근 방법을 활용하였다. 질적 연구 방법에서 연구 진행을 위한 주 된 자료 수집은 학생들의 학습공동체 활동 과정 관찰, 심층 면담, 그리고 학생 들이 기록한 ‘ 협력학습 후기’를 활용하였다. 수집된 자료들은 일련의 체계적 인 범주화와 코딩 과정(개방 코딩, 축 코딩, 선택적 코딩)을 통해서 학습공동체 활 동에서 나타나는 핵심현상과 핵심현상을 이끌어낸 인과적 요인, 그리고 핵심 현상 이면에 나타난 상호작용 전략, 그리고 학습공동체 활동의 결과적 현상을 발견하여 조직화할 수 있었다. 학생들의 학습공동체 활동의 핵심 현상은‘ 활발한 의사소통’과‘ 구성원 간 협업 활동’이었다. 이러한 현상을 가져온 주된 요인은‘ 과제 해결에 대한 열망’,‘ 공동 과제 해결’,‘ 팀원의 창의적 아이디어’,‘ 협업의 필요성’ 등 이 었다. 그 외 공동 과제 수행, 자료 공유, 토의 토론, 역할 분담과 같은 상호작용 이 있었다. 핵심 현상인‘ 활발한 의사소통’과‘ 구성원 간 협업 활동’의 결과 학생들은 창의적 과제해결, 자신감 획득, 과제해결 방법 터득과 같은 긍정적 결과를 얻었다. 무엇보다도 이러한 긍정적 결과를 도출하는데 가장 중요한 것은 공동과제해결이었다. 그러므로 학습공동체 활동 활성화를 위해서는 무엇 보다도 학생들이 공동과제해결에 대한 열망과 노력을 기울일 수 있도록 하는 것이 필요하다.
