The purpose of this study is to explore the learning process of the learning community. In order to investigate these experiences, 20 students who attended the learning community positively was selected. The journals that they wrote during 10 weeks of the learning community activities and the transcription of the interviews conducted afterwards were analyzed, categorized, and interpreted. The results of the study were summarized as follows; First, through the learning community, students gained their external motivations from the certification and good grade . In the process of the learning community, students have gained their internal motivations. Second, they recognized the importance of the student leadership in getting a successful learning process. Third, they emphasized the importance of the interaction between students and professors. The results suggest that it may be necessary to develop various learning programs for students' learning motivations. The constructivist learning methods presented in the learning community can apply in the university level class. Also it is necessary to provide appropriate online and offline space for interaction in class.

본 연구는 학습동아리 활동에서 나타난 대학생들의 학습과정에 대한 의미 를 분석하여 대학 수업에 학습동아리 학습방법의 적용과 활성화에 대한 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 충북 Y대학의 학습동아리 프로 그램에 참여한 학생 중 20명의 학생을 대상으로 저널쓰기와 심층면담을 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출 하였다. 첫째, 학습동아리 활동이 학생들의 학습동기 유발에 긍정적 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학 생들은 학습동아리 학습과정에서 구성주의를 기반으로 한 다양한 학습방법을 활용하는 것으로 나타났 다. 셋째, 학습동아리 학습과정에서는 학생 과 학생, 학생과 교수와의 상호작용을 중심으로 개인차원의 학습과 집단 차원의 학습이 동시에 일어나는 것으로 나타났다. 교수·학생 학습동아 리의 경우, 교수와 학생은 학습 활동 이외의 사적 관심사를 공유하는 관계 로 발전되기도 하였다. 또래 학습동아리의 경우, 학생들은 학습동아리 활 동을 통해 선배들이나 동료들과 돈독한 관계를 형성할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 기초로 다음과 같이 제언할 수 있다. 첫째, 학생들의 학습동기 유 발을 위하여 대학에서는 학습동아리 프로그램과 같은 다양한 비정규 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 지원할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 강의법 중심의 대학 수업 에 학습동아리 활동에서 제시된 구성주의에 바탕을 둔 다양한 학습방법을 적용할 수 있다. 또한 구성주의에 기반을 둔 학습자 중심 수업에서 학생 리더의 중요성을 인식하고 학생들의 리더십을 개발할 수 있는 프로그램을 지원할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 대학 수업에서 교수와 학생, 학생과 학생간의 효과적인 상호작용을 위해서 온라인과 오프라인에서 적절한 공간을 제공 할 필요가 있다.
