It is well known that Wittgenstein has lived a religious life. In addition, his both early and later philosophical enterprises are in close connection with religion. It is the very reason that recently Wittgenstein's philosophy of religion has been explored with activity, though his wrings and lectures on religion are rarely left. I discuss some important themes of Wittgenstein's philosophy of religion, such as religious propositions, religious life and human nature of religion, expanding into the myth and religion. To start with, I inquire into religious language, focusing that the words of religion are not the same as scientific terms, and not theories nor explanations about the world but metaphors. And I argue religion inevitably takes the way, in that it conveys what we cannot speak about, and religion leads us to get the right views on the world by the virtue of the way(§1). Then the rules of a life which religion as a system of reference guides us and the religious life in accordance with them are considered(§2). Finally the religious nature/instinct within human beings, based on Wittgenstein’ assertion that man is a ceremonious animal and the ritual actions are the instinct-actions is discussed(§3). These investigations would reveal why all of the (private and/or social) problems we have gotten have been caused and show how they could be gotten away, and then would point the way towards religiously suitable life, namely happy life.
