This study aims to elucidate the meaning of sceince and technique in Maurice Blondel's philosophy of action. Science requires the bond between mathematical determination and observation, but such bond can be realized not by science itself but by the action. In other words, it's by the action that science is established and transcended. I show that the action as the condition of science is determined not simply as human subject, but in general meaning as objective subjectivity of nature, and that scientific technique consists in systematic response of objective subjectivity to the action of human subject. Finally I discuss that scientific technique is related to social dimension of action. As the action of human subject functions as sign of natural expression and produces technique in inducing the response of nature to its action, the idea represented by technique reveals an universality which can be taken by other subjects. But when subject produces his action outside, his ultimate intention consists to confirm himself in the result of his action. Finally, the action of human subject involves responsibility on himself, all men and entire world.

본 논문은 모리스 블롱델의 행동철학에 의거하여 과학과 기술의 의미를 검토한다. 과학은 수학적 규정과 자연과학적 관찰의 결합을 필요로 하지만 이런 결합은 과학 자체가 아닌 행동에 의해 가능하다. 즉 과학은 행동을 통해 성립되고 초월된다. 과학의 조건으로서 행동은 단지 인간 주체의 주체성이 아닌 세계의 객관적 주체성으로서 포괄적인 방식으로 규정되며, 과학기술은 인간 주체의 행동에 대한 객관적 주체성의 응답이 체계화된 것이라는 점을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 과학기술이 사회적 행동과 연결된다는 점을 논의한다. 인간 주체의 행동이 자연적 표현성을 지닌 기호로서 자연의 반응을 유도하여 기술을 탄생시키듯이, 기술이 나타내는 관념은 타인들에게 취해질 수 있는 보편성을 갖기 때문이다. 그러나 주체가 행동을 외부에 산출할 때 그의 궁극적 지향은 행동의 결과에서 자신을 확인하려는 것이다. 결국 인간의 행동은 자기 자신, 모든 인간, 그리고 세계 전체에 대한 깊은 책임성을 동반할 수밖에 없다.
