This paper investigates a group of people called ‘Fuzyosi’ from conceptual, lifestyle, ideological, and market value perspectives. The findings are as follows: 1. ‘Fuzyosi’ are a sub-class of ‘Female Otakus’, and they can be defined as ‘women who enjoy novels or manga, usually also composed by women, with gay themes. 2. Because ‘Fuzyosi’ maintain a reasonable level of social sophistication and cleanliness and have a normal work life, they are indistinguishable from ‘non-otaku women’. Moreover, their world of ‘BL (Boys Love)’ is the only thing they are hiding, which makes them less conspicuous compared to their male otaku counterparts. 3. ‘Fuzyosi’ enjoy reading ‘Yaoi’ or ‘BL’ which are works with male homosexual themes. However, unlike for the male otakus, for the ‘fuzyosi’ this is merely a pastime. 4. The ‘Fuzyosi’ industry is current stagnant, but it is likely to maintain its status as a sizeable industry because of the constant nature of the demand.

本稿は｢腐女子｣と呼ばれる人たちの属性を概念、生態、思想、市場性といった四つの観点に分けて考察した 研究である。考察を通じて明らかになったことをまとめると、次のようになる。 1.｢腐女子｣とは｢女子オタクの下位分類として主に女性によって作られた男性同士の恋愛を扱った小説や漫画 などを楽しむ女性｣であると定義できる。2.｢腐女子｣は常識レベルのお洒落や清潔さを保って平日は地道に生 活している人が多いため、外見だけでは｢腐女子｣と｢非オタク女子｣は見分けがつかない。また、｢腐女子｣が 閉じているのは｢BL｣好きの趣味の世界だけであり、それ以外の部分では一般人同様に生活しているため、｢ 腐女子｣は｢男性オタク｣に比べてそれほど目立たないのである。3.｢腐女子｣は男性同士の同性愛を描いた｢や おい｣や｢BL｣を嗜好しており、｢男性オタク｣とは違って｢腐女子｣における妄想や萌えは単なる息抜きに過ぎ なく、決して現実の代償行為ではないと言える。4.｢腐女子｣に関連する産業は現在横這い状態であるが、一 定の需要があるため、当分の間は巨大産業としての命脈を保つと思われる。
