This paper proposes the solution, suggested in Zhuangzi`s philosophy, to the problem of instability and anxiety in man`s life. Man`s sufferings are referable mainly to wu物 which means 'things and affairs' and mind which means a body of 'discriminating and wanting' in Zhuangzi`s philosophy. Otherwise, man`s sufferings arise at the time 'discriminating and wanting' has operated simultaneously in mind but wanting can`t be met. And by the way, 'things and affairs' depend on destiny, so they are out of man`s control. On the other hand, the mind is controllable. This is the reason why Zhuangzi had chosen 'making things and affairs equal'齊物 and selflessness無己 as a solution to the problem of instability and anxiety in man`s life. The result of the solution is 'being free and easy wandering'逍遙, not being hurted, not being tied down and being freed from 'things and affairs.'Zhuangzi`s philosophy suggests us two kind of solutions in life. One is how to overcome the 'things and affairs' occurred in our life, the other is how to be freed from the life tied by competition.

본 논문은 개인과 세상과의 관계에 있어서의 불안정 및 근원자[天⋅道]가 초래하는 부조리로 인한 인간의 좌절 과 불안에 대하여 장자철학은 어떤 답을 제시하는가를 다룬 것이다. 장자철학에서 인간이 겪는 괴로움의 주 원인자는 ‘사건⋅사태’로서의 物과 ‘분별⋅욕망의 주체’로서의 心이며, 이 양자의 결합에 의하여 인간의 괴로움이 발생한다. 즉, 物에 대하여 분별과 욕망이 동시에 작동하였으나 그 욕망이 충족되지 못할 경우 괴로움이 발생한다. 그런데 物은 命적 사태라서 인간이 어찌할 수 없는 반면 心은 통제 범위 안에 있다. 따라서 장자철학은 분별과 욕망의 주체로서의 심을 제거시키는 齊物과 無己를 인간사 괴로움의 해결방안으로 채택한다. 그 결과는 遊心⋅ 不傷⋅不累⋅解於物 등으로 나타난다. 오로지 경쟁에서의 승리에만 초점을 맞춘다면 장자철학은 현실의 삶에 별 도움을 주지 못한다. 그럼에도 불구 하고 장자철학은 현실의 우리에게 두 가지의 중요한 문제에 대한 답안을 제공한다. 하나는 바로 ‘어찌할 수 없 는 사태를 어떻게 소화해 낼 것인가’이며, 다른 하나는 ‘경쟁에 매몰된 삶으로부터 어떻게 벗어날 수 있는가’에 대한 것이다.
