This paper is to examine Daedonggaeonseonhaeng, which the author Jikgi Yoo copied the system of Gaeon and Seonhaeng of Sohak. This book is considerd significant because it was the first attempt to teach Gaeon(beautiful words) and Seonhaeng(good deed). However there had been some arguments about the similarity of the content between Daedonggaeonseonhaeng, Daedonggaeonseonhaenglok, Daedongsohak and Daedonggyunmoonlok and who the auther of the Daedonggaeonseonhang had been. This paper determined similarity of those books in spite of some discrepancy in a few characters. Moreover, this paper identified the author as Jikgi Yoo which had been indefinite between Jikgi Yoo, his sun Unjip Yoo, or unknown. This would make an end of the argument about the authorship. In addition, this paeper dated the book sometime from April 1743 to May 1745. Jikgi Yoo thought it would make people more proud of their country when they were teached by Daedonggaeonseonhang. Daedonggaeonseonhang was made for education, which include social issues of the time. This made the book much more influencial to cildrens' education vastly. For these reasons, Daedonggaeonseonhang should be considered as a valuable text for educational and historical aspect.

본 논문은 兪直基의 『大東嘉言善行』에 대해 연구한 것이다. 『대동가언선행』은 유직기가 朱子 『小學󰡕의 ｢嘉言｣과 ｢善行｣의 체재를 모방하여 만든 책이다. 이는 우리나라 선현들의 가언과 선행을 가르치기 위해 편찬 된 책이라는 점에서 의의가 크다. 본고에서 다룬 『대동가언선행』⋅『대동가언선행록』⋅『대동소학』⋅『대동문견록(대동가언선행)』은 선행 연구에서 동일한 내용인지 또는 편찬자가 누구인지에 대해 논란이 있었다. 본고에서는 이들 저술이 몇몇 글자 의 출입 및 오탈자가 있을 뿐 모두 동일한 내용임을 확인했다. 그리고 그동안 편찬자가 유직기, 또는 유직기의 아들 兪彦鏶, 또는 미상으로 알려져 왔던 것에 대한 논란을 살펴보고, 편찬자가 유직기라는 것을 확인하였다. 이에 더해 『대동가언선행』의 편찬 연대가 ‘1743년 4월부터 1745년 6월’ 사이라는 것도 추정해냈다. 유직기는 『대동가언선행』을 교육하는 것이 당시 교육자(부모) 및 아동들에게 우리나라 사람으로서의 자부 심을 갖게 한다고 여겼다. 『대동가언선행』은 당시 사회문제나 현실상황과 밀접한 내용들을 접목하여 아동 교육을 위한 교육서로 제작한 것이기에 당시의 아동교육에 많은 영향을 주었던 것이다. 따라서 『대동가언선행』은 교육적 자료뿐만 아니라 역사적 자료로도 높은 가치가 있는 것이다.
