This study examined the awareness of school counselor accountability. 125 school counselors, teachers, and professional counselors for adolescents responded the questionnaire about the need and the purpose of school counselor accountability, the domains, contents, and methods of assessment for school counseling programs and school counselors, and the effects, problems, and improvement plan. The differences of awareness of school counselor accountability by gender, counseling career, their work places were surveyed. The findings were as follows. First, most school counselors agreed the need of school counselor accountability. Second, they represented the different importances about the domains, contents, and the methods for school counselor accountability partly. Third, there were different opinions about the effects, problems and solutions for school counselor accountability. The implications for school counseling and accountability were discussed.

본 연구는 학교상담자의 책무성 평가에 대한 인식을 조사하는데 목적이 있다. 전문상담교사 와 전문상담사, 일반교사, 일반청소년상담기관의 상담전문가 125명을 대상으로 학교상담의 책무성에 대한 필요성과 목적에 대한 인식, 학교상담 프로그램과 학교상담자의 책무성 평가 영역, 내용 및 방법에 대한 항목별 중요도 평가, 책무성 평가의 문제점과 효과, 활성화 방안 에 대한 인식을 조사하였으며, 성별, 상담경력별, 근무기관별로 인식의 차이가 있는지 분석하 였다. 조사결과, 대부분의 상담자들이 학교상담의 책무성 요구와 목적에 동의하였다. 학교상 담 프로그램과 학교상담자의 책무성 평가의 영역과 내용, 평가방법 등에 대한 항목별 중요도 평가와 책무성 평가의 효과, 문제점에 대한 의견에서 항목별 차이를 나타내었다. 성별, 상담 경력, 근무기관에 따라 부분적으로 통계적으로 유의한 인식의 차이를 보였다. 연구결과를 토 대로 학교상담과 책무성 평가에 시사하는 바를 논의하였다.
