The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of test instruments used in articles of Korean Journal of Music Therapy (KJMT) and Journal of Music and Human Behavior (JMHB) published from 1999 to 2014. Total 233 articles were reviewed according to the type of research methods. Of them, the 120 (51.5%) articles used test instruments as experimental, descriptive, and mixed method research articles were finally selected. The 120 articles were categorized and analyzed by the types of research methods, measurements, assessment areas, and so on. As results, total 173 test instruments were used in total 220 times. In the analysis of the types of measurement including domestic, international, research constructed, measurement devices, 71 domestic test instruments were used with the highest rate (41.0%). In the analysis of the types of assessment area, they included 13 test instruments related to a musical area and 161 to nonmusical areas such as social, biophysical, psychological-emotional, communicational, cognitive, and overall developmental areas. Of them, 73 test instruments were used for assessing the psychological-emotional area, which was the highest rate (42.1%) of the research contents. On the view of the recent trend that evidence-based practice has been highlighted, it is very important to provide the objective measurement and evidence-based clinical data collection from music therapy. This study suggests that various test instruments for verifying effectiveness of music therapy have been used in research studies of music therapy in Korea.

이 연구는 1999년에서 2014년까지 국내 음악치료 전문 학술지인 ‘한국음악치료학회지’와 ‘인간행동과 음악연구’에 게재된 논문에서 사용된 측정 도구의 동향을 고찰함으로써 향후 음악치료의 효과검증과 연구를 위한 도구의 선택과 적용에 대해 폭넓은 관점을 제공하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구를 위해 두 학술지에 게재된 233편의 연구논문 중 역사 또는 철학연구, 문헌 고찰 등을 제외한, 1인 이상의 객관적 관찰과 측정을 위해 측정도구를 사용한 실험연구 83편(69.2%), 기술연구(양적/질적) 26편(21.7%), 혼합연구 11편(9.1%), 총 120편(전체 게재 논문의 51.5%)의 연구논문이 최종 분석 대상으로 선정 되었다. 또한 120편의 연구는 연구유형, 측정도구 개발유형, 평가영역, 그리고 개발유형에 따른 평가영역에 대해 범주화하여 분석되었다. 그 결과, 총 120편의 연구에서 173개의 측정도구가 사용되었으며, 220회의 측정도구 사용빈도가 나타났다. 연구 유형 중 가장 많은 사용빈도를 나타낸 유형으로는 집단실험연구로서 149회(67.7%)의 사용횟수를 나타내었으며 개발유형에서는 71(41.0%)개의 국내 개발 측정도구가 사용된 것으로 나타났다. 평가 영역에 대한 분석 결과 음악적 영역을 측정하는 도구는 13개인 반면 161개의 도구가 비음악적 영역을 측정한 것으로 나타났으며, 비음악적 영역 중 심리정서 영역에서 사용된 측정 도구가 73개(42.1%)로서 다른 영역들의 측정도구보다 월등히 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 근거중심임상이 강조되고 있는 최근 경향에 비추어 볼 때 음악치료에서 객관적인 측정과 데이터 수집은 매우 중요한 일이다. 이 연구의 결과, 국내 음악치료 연구에서도 치료 효과 검증을 위해 대상자와 목적 영역에 맞는 다양한 측정도구가 사용되어 온 것으로 나타났다.
