Most of the Korean War-related researches are concentrated on the cause of the war, the influence on the international politics, and regular warfare-focused main combat analysis. However there is a neglectful tendency on the research of the guerrilla warfares taken place at the rear area of front-line. The guerilla combat at the rear area gave too much pain to the people living in the place. Especially, the ROK government was in the disastrous condition as the activities of the discontented elements(Palchi-san) were prevalent. In January 1951, due to the participation of Chinese troops, UN had to pull back under the 38th parallel. At the time, the UN unit, mainly composed of anti-communism security units, were established and started to conduct the anti-DPRK guerrilla operation. In fact, 3,000 anti-DPRK rangers influenced enormously to the phase of the war, but the researches on them are merely seen. Therefore, in this thesis, the comparison analysis of the DPRK’s guerrilla warfare after & before the Korean war and the UN troop’s guerrilla operations that were taken place from early 1951 to the truce of the war. Also, through analyzing the past, this thesis presents future guerrilla combat’s phase of the Korean peninsula. In addition, this thesis explains the current enhancement trend in special forces of military-advanced countries and the development direction for the ROK special forces.

6·25전쟁과 관련된 대부분의 연구문은 전쟁원인, 국제정치에 미친 영향, 정규전 위주의 주요 전투분석 등에 치중되어 있다. 그러나 전선후방에서 처절하게 벌어진 피아유격전에 관한 연구는 소홀한 경향이 있다. 이런 후방지역 유격전은 일반 주민 들에게도 말할 수 없는 고통을 안겨주기도 하였다. 특히 신생 대한민국 정부는 공 산빨치산 준동으로 인해 전쟁 전 국가 존립에도 심각한 영향을 받을 정도였다. 또한 1951년 1월, 중공군 참전으로 압록강까지 북진했던 UN군은 또다시 38도선 이남으로 철수해야만 했다. 이 시기 북한에서는 반공치안대가 주축이 된 UN군 유 격부대가 창설되어 활발한 대북유격작전을 본격적으로 시행했다. 사실 약 30,000 여 명의 대북유격부대원 활동은 전세에도 큰 영향을 미쳤지만 그에 관한 연구도 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 6·25전쟁 전후의 북한의 대남유격전과 1951년 초부터 휴 전 시 까지의 UN군 대북유격전 전개과정을 비교 분석하였다. 또한 이와 같은 분석 을 통해 예상되는 미래 한반도 유격전양상을 제시하고 있다. 아울러 현재 선진 군 사강국의 특수전력 강화추세와 한국군 특수부대 발전방향도 언급하였다.
