This essay concerns itself with the worries as to what the future brings regarding the Anthropocene, including the possibility of human extinction. I obliquely approach this difficult question by looking at Korean artists (Nam June Paik, Kim Ki-duk, Jang Joon-Hwan, Bong Joon-ho and Hoseob Yoon) who have addressed this issue in their own unique singular way by recalling the wisdom philosophies of the East (Zen and Doa in particular). I also mention the force of the eco art by Chris Jordan and Néle Azevedo. These approaches are juxtaposed to the art of the commercial media and raise the question: what should we do as art educators given the contemporary state of global warming and species extinction?
