In the 29th year of Ramesses III(ca. 1152 B.C.), there was a strike for complaining overdue rations. Those who engaged in the strike were the special group of artisans attached to the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. This strike is known as the first recorded strike in all of history. In this article, ‘Turin Strike Papyrus’ in which the strike is recorded is translated in Korean.

고대 이집트 신왕국 제 20왕조 람세스 3세의 재위 29년 데이르 엘－메디나(Deir el-Madina)에서 노동자들의 파업이 일어났다. 이 파업은 인류 역사상 최초로 기록된 파업으로 여겨지고 있다. 파업의 내용은 ‘토리노 파업 파피루스’라고 불리는 파피루 스에 비교적 자세히 기록되어 있다. 이 글에서는 이 흥미로운 내용의 파피루스를 한 역하였다. 고대 이집트어로 쓰여진 문서를 한국어로 번역함으로 한국 내의 이집트 학 관련 논의가 시작되는데 기여하고자 한다.
