This study uses a quality based research method and the purpose is to present an in-depth analysis on the types and causes of a referee’s misjudgments in the First Division Teams and Second Division Teams’ competitions, and find out what the winners and losers get after the competition. For the types and causes of misjudgment, what matters was, firstly, the professionalism and morality, secondly, the deficiency of organic relationship between the referees and lastly, the interference and outer pressure. These misjudgments will allow the winners to curve the public’s blame in the sense that they didn’t lose but they couldn’t avoid the guilty conscience. Meanwhile the party of losers feels a strong distrust toward the referee and despondency and has to find comfort in their doing best in the game. To prevent the misjudgment, we should elevate the referee’s quality, improve the understanding about the captains’ role and game rules. And, also, we have to arrange the system to evaluate the referee’s ability to give an incentive or penalty and prohibit the couch from offering entertainments and bribes.

본 연구의 목적은 질적 연구방법을 사용하여 대학배구 1부 팀과 2부 팀의 경기 시 나타나는 심판오심의 종류와 원인, 승자와 패자를 심층적으로 규명 하여 심판 오심에 대한 대처 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 우선 양 팀의 실력이 대동소이할 때, 특히 1세트∼4세트는 20점 이후, 5세트는 초반과 10점 이후, 그리고 경기흐름에 있어서 중요한 시기에 나타나는 오심이 경기결과에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 심판의 오심종류와 원인은 첫째, 심판의 전문성과 도덕성이, 둘째는 심판들의 유기체적 관계 부족, 셋째는 잘못된 고정관념, 마지막으로 는 간섭과 외압으로 나눌 수 있었다. 이러한 오심은 승자에게는 패배로 인한 사회적 비난을 모면시켰으나, 양심의 가책을 느껴야 했고, 패자는 심판에 대 한 강한 불신과 함께 정신적 허무함을 느껴야 했으며, 스스로 잘했다고 위안 을 가졌다. 오심을 최소화하기 위한 방안으로는 교육을 통해 심판의 자질(전 문성과 도덕성)을 높이고, 주장의 역할 및 선수의 규칙에 대한 이해도를 높 이고, 매 경기 심판의 능력을 평가하여 인센티브와 패널티를 주고, 지도자가 심판에게 향응 및 금품을 절대 제공하지 못하도록 하는 시스템을 마련해야 할 것이다.
