This study is aimed to investigate some successful adaptation factors of goose families which are increasing nowadays. We interviewed some goose families who have lived abroad over 3 years and investigate what were the difficulties of adaptation and how they managed those difficulties. 52 items were abstracted from interview data and were classified by concept mapping method. As a result, adataion factors of goose families have 2 dimensions-Dimension 1 is divided as system versus relation and Dimension 2 is divided as inner traits versus outer features. 3 type of adaption factors were identified as family climate which provides freedom and acceptance to children, relationship with neighborhood which provides supports to goose families, positive attitudes which help goose families overcome conflicts. These results shows that macro and micro systems of the community where goose families residence and psychological characteristics of those family members are important factors in successful adaptation of goose families. These results could be used as fundamental materials in counseling, education, and policy making for goose families.

본 연구는 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 기 러기 가족의 성공적인 적응요인을 탐색하 는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 해외 에 거주하는 기러기 가족을 심층 면접하 여 외국생활의 어려움과 대처방법을 탐색 하고 이를 개념도 분석 방법으로 분류하 였다. 연구 결과 기러기 가족의 적응 요인 은 2개 차원으로 구분되는데 차원 1은 학 교 문화, 지역 문화 등 체계적 내용과 주 변사람과의 지지 등 관계적 내용으로 구 분되고, 차원 2는 심리 정서, 태도 등 개 인의 내적 특성과, 학교 환경, 이웃 환경 등 외적 특성으로 구분된다. 적응요인의 유형으로는 자녀에게 자유롭고 수용적인 분위기, 주변 사람과의 관계 및 지지, 갈 등의 극복 및 긍정적인 태도가 도출되었 다. 이를 통해 볼 때 해외거주 기러기 가 족의 적응에서는 거주하고자 하는 지역의 거시체계, 미시체계와 더불어 개인의 심리 성격 특성이 중요한 요인으로 작용하는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구의 의의와 활용 방안에 대해 논의하였다.
