Lianshun Xu, a leading figure of the Korean Chinese literary circles, madeher official debut as a writer in the mid-1980s. Xu showed a clear tendencyof feminism from the very beginning of her writing. The trend of feminismdisplayed in Xu’s short and medium-length stories has appeared in the contextof the Chinese Reform and Opening Up, and has gradually expanded andescalated in the following decades. From the mid-1980s to the early 1990s,feminism was mainly displayed from the doubt that Korean Chinese womenhave about masculism, as well as their radical departure from the traditionalmorality and ethics. Meanwhile, stories written after the mid-1990s showed astrong denial of and a confrontation with masculism. Stories written after the2000s are characterized by their bold demolition work of the masculism. Throughout the whole process, Xu has never given up pursing and admiringfeminity. The Korean Chinese women’s frequent escape from the traditionalethics and their resistance to the patriarchy, which were reconstructed by Xuin her stories, I argue, cannot be analysed merely as the result of theemancipation of women or demolition of patriarchy. Furthermore, regardingdismantlement of traditional family structure, Xu tends to assess more blameon Korean Chinese men than women.

허련순은 1980년대 중기이후부터 중국 조선족 소설계의 중견적인 여류 소설가로서 소설창작의 첫 시작부터 아주 선명한 페미니즘성향을 보여주었다. 중국의 개혁개방이란 사회적 콘텍스트 속에서 나타난 허련순의 중단편 소설에서의 페미니즘 성향은 점차 확장되어 나갔다. 1980년 중반으로부터 1990년대 초반에 이르는 허련순의 중단편 소설의 페미니즘 경향은 주로는 남성중심주의에 대한 중국 조선족 여성들의 회의와 전통적 윤리도덕에로부터의 일탈이라면, 1990년대 중반 이후 창작된 중단편소설들에서는 남성중심주의에 대한 부정과 대항을 보여주었으며, 2000년 이후에 창작 된 중단편 소설에서는 남성중심주의에 대한 대담한 해체작업으로 특징지어진다. 그리고 이러한 전반 과정에서도 허련순의 중단편소설들은 여성성(feminity)에 대한 추구와 찬양을 포기하지 않았다. 허련순의 소설 중 페미니즘적 경향을 갖고 있는 중단편 소설들에서 재현된 중국 조선족 사회에 속출한 여성의 일탈, 저항현상은 단지여성 해방이나 부권제의 해체의 결과로서만 해석할 수 없는 부분이 많으며, 또한 가정의 해체에서 여성들은 아무 책임도 없고 남성들에게만 책임이 있는 것은 결코 아니라는 점을 간과한점은 한계로 지적될 수 있다.
