In recent years, terror on S. Koreans in the Arab and Islamic world has continuously increased. In the current situation, it is necessary to analyze “Why has the terror on S. Koreans happened?” In other words, It is necessary to recognize accurately what are the reasons and backgrounds of terror on Koreans in Arab and Islamic world. One of the reasons why terror on Koreans increases is that soldiers of S. Korea as an ally of the United States have been sent to Afghanistan and Iraq. S. Korea has been involved in the U.S. leading the ‘war on terror’, which has caused terror on Koreans in Arab region. In addition, there is another reason for terror on Koreans in the Arab & Islamic World. It is due to the disturbing and unilateral missions of some religious groups of Korea in Arab & Islamic world. The mission of other religions is one of the most important causes for terror in Arab & Islamic world. Some religious groups of Korea are not well aware of Islam and Islamic culture. In such a situation, they have done the conquering and expansive missionary work there. With these two points, this paper is to study terror on Koreans in the Arab & islamic world.

이 논문은 아랍이슬람권에서 발생하는 다양한 테러 중에서 한국인을 대상으로 하는 테 러에 대하여 논하고 있다. 2001년 9.11테러이후 지구상의 많은 국가들이 테러문제에서 자 유롭지 못하게 되었다. 과거 테러로부터 자유로웠던 국가들도 테러 대상국의 명단에 이름을 올리게 되었으며 지구 곳곳에서 다양한 목적의 테러가 행해져 왔고 한국도 이러한 상황에서 예외가 될 수 없었다. 특히 한국은 두 가지 측면에서 무슬림들의 테러 대상으로 떠오르게 되었다. 그 중 첫 번 째 이유는 2003년 미국의 이라크 침공으로 인한 제2차 걸프전에 대한 한국군의 파병에 기 인하고 있다. 두 번째 한국인에 대한 테러는 한국인들의 특정 종교 세력들의 무분별하고 공 격적인 아랍 이슬람권 선교에서 발생하게 되었다. 이슬람권에서의 선교는 한국인에 대한테러가 늘어난 가장 큰 이유 중 하나인데 한국의 일부 종교단체는 아랍이슬람권의 사회문제와 종교 및 문화를 제대로 인지하지 못한 상태에 서 일방적으로 행해진 측면이 많다. 즉 한국종교단체의 정복주의적이고 팽창주의적인 선교 가 부른 결과가 한국인에 대한 아랍 이슬람권의 테러로 나타났다고 볼 수 있는 것이다. 이 논문에서는 이처럼 아랍이슬람권에서의 한국인 테러에 대한 배경과 원인을 정치적 관점과 종교적 관점을 통해 분석하고 있다.
