This study aims at analyzing the problems of the current welfare payments of Korean professional Baduk players and at suggesting an alternative. The analysis was based on welfare payment assessment data of the Korea Baduk Association. The following conclusions were made. The problems of the current welfare system are: firstly, the inflexibility of the welfare finances, secondly, the inequality of distribution, thirdly, the instability of the welfare system management. Based on these three problems the following alternative is suggested: firstly, securing the integrity of the finances by expanding the price money system and by raising the study payment based on the inflation rate, secondly, adjustments of the target group and period of pensions, and thirdly, managing the payments in a flexible way.

이 연구는 한국기원에서 프로기사를 대상으로 시행하고 있는 복지수당 제도의 문제점을 파 악하여 그 대안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국기원 복지수당 산정 자료를 바탕으로 프로기사에 대한 전수 조사를 통해 자료를 분석하 여 도출한 결론은 다음과 같다. 현행 복지수당 제도의 문제점은 첫째, 복지수당 재원의 경직화, 둘째, 분배의 불평등문제, 셋 째, 복지수당 제도 운영의 불안정성으로 파악되었다. 위의 문제점을 바탕으로 도출한 제도 개선 방안은 첫째, 연구수당을 물가상승률을 반영한 인 상, 상금제 확대실시를 통해 재정 건전성을 확보하는 것, 둘째, 수급 대상과 기간을 조정하는 것, 셋째, 지급금을 탄력적으로 운용하는 것을 제시하였다.
