In this study, the success factors of the Webtoon was analyzed focusing on the ‘circumstances, messages, code address, contact’ among the components of Roman Jakobson's communication process, and the result is showed as follows. First, about the ‘Circumstance’, the social and cultural situation of the conventional salaried workers in this era and the main characters' lives showed the same rigorous and realistic flows to maximize the readers' emotional empathy. Second, about the 'Message’, the message of growth that the existence as the ‘Misaeng(Incomplete Life)’ which did not still alive heading for the ‘Wansaeng(Complete Life)’ which should be reached someday in the future are shown in the writer's perspective and the leading character, Jang G-Rae's perspective. Third, about the ‘Code address’, the writer included the code which can move the reader's mind in the text as the Webtoon, so it provoked the empathy. Fourth, about the 'Contact’, some readers remained the opinions on the BBS (bulletin board system) and other readers left replies, so the readers could interpret the code of growth by themselves in the process of sharing story each other. In recent years, the game of go has been the focus of the cultural contents by being used for the materials in the comics, the movies and drama in our community, so it is expected that these success factors will be used for the good information.

이 연구는 야콥슨의 커뮤니케이션 과정의 구성요소 중에서 ‘상황, 메시지, 약호, 접촉’을 중심 으로 웹툰 <미생>의 성공요인을 분석하였고, 그 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, ‘상황’은 이 시대의 평범한 샐러리맨들의 사회․문화적 상황과 주요 등장인물의 삶이 치밀하고 현실감 있게 흐름을 같이 하면서 독자들의 정서적 공감을 극대화 시켰다. 둘째, ‘메시지’는 아직 살아 있지 못한 ‘미생(未生)’이라는 존재에서 언제가 도달할 ‘완생(完生)’ 을 향해 나아가는 성장의 메시지를 작가의 시선과 주인공 장그래의 시선으로 전달하고 있다. 셋째, ‘약호’는 작가가 독자의 마음을 움직일 수 있는 코드를 텍스트인 웹툰에 내재시켜 공감 을 불러일으켰다. 넷째, ‘접촉’은 독자들이 댓글 란에 글을 남기고 다른 독자가 답글을 남기며 서로 이야기를 공유하게 되는 과정에서 독자 스스로가 성장이라는 코드를 해석하게 되었다. 최근 우리사회에서 바둑이 만화와 영화, 드라마의 소재로 다루어지면서 문화콘텐츠로 주목받 고 있는 상황 속에서 이러한 성공요인을 좋은 정보로 활용하길 기대한다.
