This thesis is intended to study cultural meaning and value of the Korean tales of baduk. Korean traditional culture is our life style and pride, which has rooted in the emotion of Korean people for a long time. And the baduk tales that have been impressed by Korean traditional culture are precious cultural heritage which has been on the public's mind from the period of the Three States. Therefore I study the value of baduk tales as source of contents based on the baduk tales' cultural meaning, and I want to find the possibility that we can use baduk tales as the original form of contents. The baduk is an excellent traditional culture of Korea. So, we have to change it for cultural contents, and to make children and youth to get the world of fantasy and dream and to understand the Korean history and its traditional culture in their heart. Developing original contents, we can produce extended contents for cultural industry. Therefore, the stories of baduk are so useful in the point that the original cultural contents are the source to produce the new one. Hereafter, we should continue studying and researching the storytelling method for making the global cultural contents from the baduk tales of Korea, then, the cultural heritage of Korea will be glorious in the world.

본 연구는 한국 바둑설화의 문화적 의미와 가치를 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 한국 전통문화는 오 랜 역사에 걸쳐 국민정서 속에 뿌리 내린 삶의 양식이자 우리의 자랑거리이다. 그 중에서 전통 문화가 발현되어 있는 바둑설화는 삼국시대 이래로 대중의 마음속에 머물러 온 소중한 문화유산 이다. 따라서 한국 바둑설화에 나타난 문화적 의미를 고찰하여 바둑설화가 원천 콘텐츠로서 지 닌 가치를 탐구하고, 다양한 문화콘텐츠의 원형으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 발견하고자 한다. 우리나라의 우수한 전통설화 문화를 콘텐츠로 바꾸어 어린이들에게 꿈과 상상의 세계를 보 여주고, 우리나라 역사지식과 옛 문화를 이해하고 사랑할 수 있는 민족사상을 전해주며, 우리 것을 자랑할 수 있는 문화상품으로 개발할 수 있는 요소를 갖추고 있는 것이 바둑설화이다. 특 히 바둑설화는 원형 콘텐츠 개발을 통해 문화원형의 창작 활용에 대한 리소스 제공이 가능하 고, 이를 활용하여 다양한 문화콘텐츠 상품으로 개발할 수 있는 창작 원천으로서 활용성이 높 다고 볼 수 있다. 향후 바둑설화의 문화콘텐츠화를 위한 스토리텔링 방법론 연구를 통해 세계 속에 빛날 한국 문화유산의 콘텐츠화가 이루어질 수 있도록 학문적 연구와 탐구가 지속되어야 할 것이다.
