Architectural Planning Method of Children's Library Introducing the Concept of Play Space - A Case Study of Miracle' Library of Jeong, Gi-yong -

This study analyzed the organization of space of the children's library and characteristics of the children's play space. The overall space structure of the children's library is composed to motivate various activity by connecting reading space and outdoor space. Reading room constitutes the big open space and has high vertical connectivity with reading room on the second floor. Children's play space was analyzed by the components of play space as high space, unusual space, enclosed space, and open space. The characteristics of these play spaces are having ambiguous spatial boundary between reading space and play space, which motivate book-based play as an extension of reading space by having high spatial connectivity with reading space or circulation.
