The communication difficulties in the peer relationship among female high school students

This study investigated the communication difficulties in the peer relationship among female high school students. We interviewed 12 female high school students in person. The interviewed data were recorded and analyzed by descriptive phenomenological methods. The first analyses drew 132 significant statements, and then we extracted 58 formulated meanings among significant statements. Finally 20 themes and 3 categories were drawn from formulated meanings. When we compared categories by the number of included significant statements, the categories were lined up such as the lack of communication skills, communication obstacles, unskilled copying strategies with conflicts. These results showed the guideline of practical intervention for adolescent girls as well as the specific contents of communication difficulties in the peer relationship.
