Influence of the Relevant Variables on Depression and Suicide Incitement of Adolescents

The purpose of this study was to find the influence of parent-adolescent communication, peer relationship, academic stress on depression and suicide incitement in adolescents. For this purpose, 300 adolescents selected from three high schools participated in the study. The findings of this study are as follows : First, there were some significant differences in adolescent's depression according to adolescent's grade, sex and parent-adolescent communication, peer relationship, academic stress in adolescents. Second, there were some significant differences in adolescent's suicide incitement according to adolescent's sex and parent-adolescent communication, peer relationship, academic stress in adolescents. Third, It was found that peer relationship, problematic communication, academic stress in due to test, career were all significant predictors of the adolescent's depression. Fourth, It was also found that depression, open communication, peer relationship relate to interest and recognition, compromise and trust were all significant predictors of the adolescent's suicide incitement. Higher depression, lower open communication, poor peer relations were associated with higher levels of suicide incitement among adolescents.
