The impact of Boy’s Moral Emotion on the Participants’ Roles in School Bullying situations : The moderating effect of parenting attitude
초록
영어
This study examined the relationship between boy's moral emotion and participants' roles in school bullying situations, and the moderating effects of parenting attitudes on the two factors. For the subjects of the study, 512 male middle school students in Seoul city and Gyeonggi-do were selected. They were administered with the Test of Self-Conscious Affect(TOSCA) for Adolescents, Participant Role Questionnaire(PRQ), and the Parenting Behavior Inventory. The data was analyzed through ANOVA and multi- nominal logistic regression. The results were summarized as follows: First, ‘reflective attitude(a subscale of guilt)’ factor had a statistically significant influence on a defender than a bully-follower and a bystander. Second, the parenting attitude showed the moderating effect between moral emotion and participants' roles in school bullying situations. For example, with a lower level of parent’s autonomous style, a adolescent who showed ‘sensitivity about other’s evaluation(a subscale of shame)’, ‘blaming oneself(a subscale of shame)’, ‘corrective attitude(a subscale of guilt)’ factors tended to be a defender. However with a higher level of parent’s autonomous attitude, a adolescent only who showed 'sensitivity about other’s evaluation’ factor tended to be a bully-follower. Based on the finding results, discussions and implication for a further study were discussed.
