‘I’ as a heroine of “Seihin no Sho (The Book of Honest Poverty)” was continuously beaten in the second marriage life with Ichitaro Uoya. Even in a such circumstance, the heroine tried to maintain her marriage life, but ended up with leaving him after Ichitaro found a lover outside of their home. Then the heroine began the third attempt on her marriage life with Kyoichi Komatsu. She did not have a great expectation on the life and just wished to have it without domestic violence. It shows how much ‘I’ struggled to fulfill my hart with love. However, unbelievably, Kyoichi Komatsu understood and considers the feeling of ‘myself’. In the begging of the relationship, Kyoichi showed his selfishness and ‘I’ was anxious about the uncertainty in the future. Then, gradually, ‘I’ started recovering my spiritual health. Undoubtedly, Fumiko Hayashi reflected herself into ‘I’ and expressed her emotion damaged by violence and betrayals from her former boyfriends and husbands on top of the isolation and vagrancy in her childhood. Fumiko drew her own marriage life of seeking a little happiness with Ryokubin Tezuka through ‘I’ and Kyoichi Komatsu in “Seihin no Sho”.
