Since the development of smartphone, people have developed diversesmartphone apps for various purposes. The market of smartphoneapps has largely grown. Following this trend, there has been increases ofvarious health apps and users of them. As previous research shows,health apps are now used for many purposes such as diet, exercise, andmedical information. However, there has been little research on cognitiveand social factors of determining the adoption and use of health apps. Thus, based on an expanded technology acceptance model (TAM II),this present study examined the effects of several factors of influencingperceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention to continue touse health apps. Through a path analysis, this study found that health informationorientation and social influence significantly and positively affectedperceived usefulness and that smartphone app use efficacy andsatisfaction also positively influenced perceived ease of using healthapps. Moroever, this study found that while the effects of social influenceon perceived usefulness and intention to continuous use were strongeramong females, the effect of health information orientation was strongeramong males.

스마트폰이 등장한 이래, 스마트폰 앱은 다양한 목적으로 개발되었고 스마트폰 앱 시장은 빠른 속도로 확장되었다. 이러한 트렌드에 맞춰, 건강관련 앱의개발과 이용 또한 꾸준히 증가했다. 여러 연구에서 보여주듯이, 건강관련 앱은다양한 목적(예. 다이어트, 의학정보)으로 사용되고 있고, 건강분야 종사자 및앱 개발자들은 건강관련 앱의 효능성에 초점을 두면서, 사용자 확보에 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 하지만, 건강관련 앱의 이용에 영향을 미치는 인지적·사회적 요인들에 대한 체계적인 연구가 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 확장된 기술수용 모델(TAM II)을 이론적 기반으로 두면서, 건강관련 앱의 유용성, 용이성,지속적 사용 의도에 영향을 미치는 여러 선행 요인들의 효과를 분석했다. 경로분석을 통해, 건강 정보 지향과 사회적 영향이 건강관련 앱의 인지된 유용성에정적인 효과를 미치고, 스마트폰 앱 사용 효능감과 만족도 또한 건강관련 앱의인지된 용이성에 정적인 영향을 준다는 것을 발견했다. 이에 더해, 사회적 영향의 효과는 여성에게 상대적으로 큰 반면, 건강 정보 지향의 효과는 남성에게컸다.
