The starting point of this research is there is a close similarity between the conceptual modeling of stakeholder relationship management, which is the important study issue in recent public relations field, and bilateral negotiation which has been extensively researched in negotiation analysis area. The research point of views of this study are two folds. firstly, the various issues in bilateral negotiation have been compared with the recent conceptual modeling and theories in public relations study. Secondly, Murphy’s case study applied game theory to practical understanding of public relations has been introduced, and also examined which academic area of negotiation analyses does his study exclusively belong to. Finally, I tried to find application possibilities of various negotiation analyses to interpret dynamic stakeholder relationship situations in real public relations fields.

본 연구 전개를 위한 출발점은 PR학에서 최근에 이루어지는 관계자 관계관리 영역의 개념적 모델화를 위한 논의가 이전 협상학 분야에서 다양한 연구가 있어왔던 양자협상 연구 논의와 유사성을 보인다는 것이었으며, 이는 두 연구영역의 핵심 연구대상인 조직과 공중간의 관계 관리와 협상학에서의 양자협상이 가지는 기본적 개념일치성이 존재하기 때문이다. 본 연구의 논의는 두 영역에서 이루어졌는데, 첫째는 협상학에 있어 양자협상 분야의 논의 전개와 PR 모델의 발전 과정에 놓여 있은 여러 PR 모델의 논의 전개과정의 비교 분석이었다. 두 번째는 협상분석의 특수영역이 게임론적 협상분석에 PR 사례를 적용한 Murphy의 연구를 기반으로 하여 Murphy의 사례 소개와 이러한 논의가 전체 협상게임분석분야 중 어느 영역에 속하는가에 대한 이해와 향후 PR 관계자 관리 연구를 위한 협상게임분석의 적용가능성을 살펴보았다.
