A review of the curricula of schools of interpretation and translationindicate that there are no schools which have a dedicated course thatdeals directly with ethical issues in interpretation and translation. Andyet, interpreters and translators often face situations which may beethically questionable or to which they have no guidelines. The purposeof this article is to examine the so-called grey areas and/or ethical issuesfrom a practical perspective and to understand how practicing interpretersview such situations. After a review of ethics in interpretation, a surveywas conducted among interpreters to examine how they view suchchallenging situations.
