There is a growing interest in Dark Tourism, which connects dark histories such as deaths or disasters to tourist attractions at home and abroad. Korea has a lot of historical sites for anti-Japan movement in terms of colonization domestically. Many relevant sites can be seen in China internationally. In particular, on Jan. 2014 the Memorial Hall for Patriot Ahn Jung-geun, who was a martyr against Japanese colonization opened in Harbin, China, which is a historical site about anti-Japan protest. The memorial makes the interest in historical sites for anti-Japan movement bigger. Accordingly, positive connection of the memorial to resources for Dark Tourism is expected to play a role of an on-the-spot education in identifying painful history and inspiring patriotism and the pride of Koreans. The study examined availability of Dark Tourism for the Memorial Hall for Patriot Ahn Jung-geun and arranged solutions to promote it. As a result the value of the availability of Dark Tourism for the Memorial is highly evaluated and needs cooperations from various areas such as academy and business let alone mutual cooperation between Korean and Chinese governments.

최근 국내외적으로 죽음이나 재난과 같이 역사적으로 어두운 부분을 관광자원으로 연계하는 다크투어리즘에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 우리나라는 역사적으로 식민의 역사와 관련 국내외적으로 많은 항일항쟁 유적지가 산재해 있으며, 국외적 차원에서는 중국에 많은 유적지가 있다. 특히, 2014년 1월 안중근 의사 기념관이 중국 내 항일항쟁의 역사적 장소인 하얼빈 역에 개관됨으로써 항일항쟁 유적지와 그 역사에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 따라서 안중근 의사 기념관을 다크투어리즘적 자원으로 적극 연계한다면 아픈 역사를 확인하고 애국심과 민족 자긍심을 고취시키는 현장 교육의 장으로써의 역할을 해 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 안중근 의사 기념관의 다크투어리즘 활용성을 탐색해 보았다. 이를 위해 다크투어리즘에 대해 탐색하고, 안중근 의사 기념관과 다크투어리즘의 활용성을 검토하여, 향후 이를 활성화하기 위한 방안을 제시해 보았다. 연구결과 안중근 의사 기념관의 다크투어리즘 활용성의 가치는 높게 평가되며, 이를 활성화하기 위해서는 한국과 중국 정부 간 공조체계 구축과 더불어, 학계 및 업계 등 다방면의 분야에서 공조적 노력이 필요하다.
