The polygraph-test known as 'Polygraph' is a typical method as approach to detect lies through thepsycho-physiological changes. It measures heartbeat, blood pressure and skin conductance for the autonomicnervous system and detect deception or not, after calulating physiological changes when the emotions run high. But there are complicated procedure to be accepted the result of polygraph test as evidence in court. In thissense, the research selected the blood pressure (Diastolic pressure and Systolic pressure) before and After thepolygraph as a test value, and analyzed the difference between true confession and false confession. Then, Itstudied on the usefulness of the changes as a deception detection indicator. This research conclude that thenecessary and sufficient condition for using as the deception detection indicator is the rise of blood pressure(+)in diastolic pressure, and the rise of blood pressure more than 16mmHg in systolic pressure after polygraph test.

정신 생리적 변화를 측정함으로써 거짓말을 탐지하려는 접근은 ‘거짓말 탐지기’라고 알려진 폴리그래프(polygraph)검사가 대표적인 방법으로 자리 잡고 있다. 폴리그래프는 신체 자율신경계에 해당하는 심장 박동수, 혈압, 피부전도성 등을 측정하여 정서가 고조되었을 때 나타나는 흥분 수준인 생리적 변화를 계산한 후 거짓말 여부를 탐지하는 것이다. 그러나 폴리그래프의 결과에 있어 법정 증거로써의 인정에는 까다로운 절차가 남겨져 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 폴리그래프 검사 전·후의 혈압이 확장기와 수축기의 혈압을 측정변인으로 선정하여 진실자와 거짓진술자간의 차이를 분석하여 그 변화를 거짓탐지의 지표로 사용할 수 있는가에 대해 연구하였으며 거짓말 탐지 지표로 활용하기 위한 필요충분조건으로서 ‘확장기혈압에서는 검사 전·후의 증가된(+) 혈압변화와 수축기에서는 16 mmHg 이상의 혈압변화’를 확인하였다.
