There has been a reduction of the number of young adults in the Korean church due to the chaos and conflict in their identity of Christian faith. It can be said that there has been a blind spot in the ministry of the church for young adults. Recently, however, there is a trend gradually growing within the church to invest in a variety of programs to put a hold on focusing on young adults to keep them from leaving the church. Owing to this trend, a serious effort is now being undertaken by almost all synods focusing on ministry for young adults. Recently there can be seen a revival as the church’s mission has brought back many young people back into the fold and back into church. This study will examine the proper understanding of the needs of young people in the church and suggest alternatives for methods of revival. This study will initially look into theoretical issues in dealing with young adults in a general perspective and then through a biblical reference. A brief explanation of the current status of young people in the church will then be summarized and an understanding of the ministry for young adults will be explored. Finally suggestions will be offered for the revival of the ministry for young adults through utilization of small group discipleship training.

현재 한국 교회는 청년들이 신앙의 정체성을 갖지 못하고 혼돈과 갈등 속에 있음으로 인하여 청년들의 수가 감소하고 있 고 교회를 떠나는 실정이다. 지금까지 청년들은 어쩌면 교회 목회의 사각지대에 있었다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 최근에 많은 교회가 청년에 대해 관심을 가지기 시작 하였고 교회를 떠나는 청년들을 교회에 붙잡아 두기 위한 방안으로 과감한 투자, 다양한 프로그램 등을 실시하는 교회가 점차적으로 증가하는 추세이다. 이러한 추세에 힘입어 이제 거의 모든 교단에서 청년들을 목회의 중심으로 받아들이기 위한 진지한 노력들을 하고 있는 중이다. 한국 교회는 오늘날 청년들이 가지고 있는 문화를 활용하여 청년들을 교회 안으로 들어오게 하고 교회에서 청년부의 부흥 이 주축이 되어 다시 한국 교회를 활성화 시켜야 되는 사명이 있다. 이에 본 논문은 청년들을 올바르게 이해하고 그들의 부서가 부흥이 되는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구자는 먼저 청년에 대하여 이론적으로 접근하여 그들에 대 한 일반적 정의와 성경에서 언급하고 있는 청년의 의미가 무엇인지 밝히고, 한국교회 청년부 현 상황을 간단히 소개 한 다 음 교회 청년부에 대한 이해를 파악 할 것이다. 교회 청년부 부흥 방안을 위하여 본 연구는 소그룹 제자훈련을 통한 교회 청년부의 부흥 방안을 제시한다.
