Effects of integrative exercise program on body composition and stress hormone in obese high school female students

The purpose of this study was to investigat4e the effects of 12 weeks intergrative exercise (dance sports, yoga, and meditation) on the level of cortisol and ACTH known to be the indication of stress, and on the other physiological factors (body composition and blood variables) among obese high school female students. The results showed significant improvement of %body fat (p=.028), triglyceride (p=.018), ACTH (p=.003), cortisol (p=.048) after the 12 weeks exercise program. Also, body composition and blood realtived variables displayed significant improvements. In conclusion, the 12 weeks intergrative exercise seems to cause the reduced activation of HPA axis facilitationg the postive influence on participants physical and mental status. Thus, the 12 weeks intergrative exercise program may prevent body composition and reduce the level of stress hormone in obese girls high school students.
