The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of social physique anxiety and physical self-concept related to perfectionism among university students. The participants of this study consisted of 361 university male and female students who are taking physical activity classes. The used instruments were the Han(1993) for measuring perfectionism, the Koo(2004) for measuring social physique anxiety, and the Kim(2001) for measuring physical self-description. The data were analyzed by t-test, One-way ANOVA and Two-way ANOVA as a statistical method. The results showed that male students had significantly higher than female students in self-oriented perfectionism and social-prescribed perfectionism. While female students had significantly higher in negative physique evaluation subscale, male students showed higher in positive physical expression subscale. The results also showed that self-oriented group had significantly higher than social-prescribed group in most subscales of physical self-concept. Although social- prescribed perfectionism had a negative effect, self-oriented perfectionism influenced positively on physical self-concept.
