This paper provides a detailed examination of the Korean rare books in the Princeton University, identifying all 80 titles in 442 volumes the great part of the collection is included in Gest Collections. The Gest Collections began his personal interest, but now show the distribution of publication in the early 20th century. Also through such methods as assessing the ownership stamp in each volume, the back ground and provenance of the rare books were inferenced. The particular significance of each item was described through bibliographical notes, then the materials were analized by topic and type of printing. The most prevalent portion of Korean rare books owned by Princeton university fall into the category of literature, 45% of the total. Aside from that history 30 titles in 138 volumes (37.5%), and sciences and arts 7 titles in 19 volumes, classics 7 titles in 35 volumes. The result of the analized by type of printing, 40 titles in 304 volumes are woodblock printed books, and 20 titles in 73 volumes are metal type (new lead type), 7 titles in 28 volumes are wooden movable type printed books. 5 titles in 8 volumes are handwritten books, and 3 titles in 8 volumes are lithographs.

미국프린스턴대학교 소장 한국 고서는 모두 80종 442책으로 확인되었다. 이들 장서는 대부분 게스트 컬렉션에 포함되었던 자료들이며 최근에 크리스티 경매에서 구입한 초주 갑인자본 ꡔ국어ꡕ 1종이 포함되어 있다. 장서 수집은 게스트의 개인적인 관심에서 비롯되 었으나 당시 중국에서 구입한 한국 고서를 통하여 20세기 초 도서 유통의 다른 면을 확인 할 수 있었다. 아울러 프린스턴대학교 소장 한국고서에 찍힌 장서인을 통해 해당 고서가 소장된 과정을 추론하였다. 소장 자료 가운데 주목할 만한 고서를 살펴보고, 주제별․판본별 분석을 하였다. 프린 스턴대학교 도서관에 소장된 한국본 고서는 집부(集部)가 45%로 가장 많았고, 사부(史部) 는 30종138책으로 37.5%, 경부(經部)와 자부(子部)는 각각 7종19책과 7종35책으로 8.75% 를 차지하였다. 판종별 소장현황을 보면 목판본이 40종304책, 신연활자본이 20종73책으로 각각 50%와 25%를 차지하였고, 목활자본과 필사본, 석판본은 각각 7종28책, 5종8책, 3종8책이 소장되 어 있었다. 금속활자본은 갑인자본이 2종, 정리자본 1종, 전사자본 1종, 후기교서관인서체 자 1종이 소장되어 있었다.
