A Effect of Adolescent's Peer Bulling and Victimization on Stress and School Adjustment

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of adolescent’s peer bulling and victimization on stress and school adjustment. The sample included 324 middle school students from two middle schools located in I city. Date was collected using the peer bulling and victimization inventory, stress index and school adjustment index, and statistically analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA(Scheffe’ test), correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the results, there were significant differences in adolescent’s peer bulling and victimization, stress and school adjustment according to the adolescent’s grade, gender and school achievement. In addition, correlation analysis indicated that peer bulling and victimization were significantly positive correlated with adolescent’s stress and negative correlated with school adjustment. It was also found that peer bulling and victimization was a significant predictors of the adolescent’s stress and school adjustment.
