The Effect of the Daily Hassles, Self-Esteem, Public Stigma and Internalized Shame to Resilience of Adolescence in Institutional Care. - Focused on the Moderating Effect of Forgiveness -

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of daily hassles, self-esteem, social stigma, and internalized shame on resilience in forgiveness of adolescence in institutional care. Especially in order to find the effect on adjustment in forgiveness, the data was collected based on surveys from 175 adolescence in institutional care at 9 facilities located in Kwangju metropolitan city in South Jeolla province. Based on analysis of these factors, it revealed the fact that the lower daily hassles and the higher self-esteem resulted in the higher resilience. In addition, the higher level of forgiveness resulted in the higher resilience. Also, if you looked at the impact of the social stigma, and internalized shame on resilience, you would see that there was a statistically significant meanings of regulating effect on forgiveness. In particular, social stigma and forgiveness interacted mutually and this resulted in the higher resilience. Likewise internalized shame and forgiveness interacted with one another. So it lowered resilience. Based on the results of this study, a practical and political intervention measures to regulate were suggested in order to increase the resilience of the adolescence in institutional care.
