This article is for investigating the trends of leadership and its background in which the authority and the focus of leadership are likely to be distributed or diluted throughout the lager part of community in these days. Due to the change of the cultural environments, the paradigm and structure of leadership shift from the top-single leadership to the collective one. Particularly, the team leadership as one of collective leadership models seems to has the possibility of extremely moving toward the leaderless model in the future. Such phenomena can be related with the change of the paradigm of natural sciences and the shift from the modernity to the postmodernity. This article tries to explain the two recent significant theories of natural science for the leadership distribution; one is the theory of chaos, and another is one of emergence. And also the social-scientific application of those theories and its Christian evaluations are briefly dealt with for the critical contextualization of leadership distribution. The maturity of the followers, the significance of small groups, the Pauline leadership model, etc. are suggested to be the considerable factors to cope with the leadership distribution. Consequently, the distributed leadership model is contextualized as the complementary or integrative model of leaders rather than the substituted one for the traditional leadership model.

본고는 최근 나타나는 리더십의 분산 현상에 대한 묘사와 그 배경에 대한 소고이다. 문화 환경과 시대정신의 변화로 인한 리더십의 패러다임과 구조 등의 변화는 단일 정상의 리더십에서 집단적 리더십으로 전이되고 있다. 특히 집단적 리더십은 팀 리더십에서 더 분산화되어서 더 큰 복수적인 리더십 구조로 확산되고 있다. 그리고 이것은 극단적으로 비리더십 구조로 갈 가능성도 있다. 이러한 변화는 자연과학적 패러다임의 변이와 무관하지 않은 듯 보이는데, 뉴턴역학에서 양자역학으로의 변이이자 모더니즘에서 포스트모더니즘으로의 변이일 것이다. 본고에서는 이러한 리더십의 분산 추세를 자연과학적 패러다임의 변이에서 중요한 두 가지 이론들의 배경으로 설명하고자 하였다. 첫째는 카오스 이론이며 둘째는 창발성 이론이다. 이 두 가지의 이론들을 요약하고 이들에 대한 사회과학적 적용에 대해서도 간단히 알아보았다. 그리고 이러한 리더십 패러다임의 변화의 배경에 대한 기독교적인 문제점과 문화적 변용에 대하여 평가하였다. 나아가서 이러한 시대적 흐름에 대하여 기독교적인 비판적 상황화의 필요성에 대하여 설명하였다. 팔로워의 성숙도, 소그룹의 중요성, 바울의 리더십 모델 등은 이러한 리더십 분산 현상에서 중요한 관심의 초점이 된다. 그리고 그러한 리더십의 변화는 기존의 리더십 모델의 대체적인 것이라기보다는 보완적이어야 할 것으로 보인다.
