This paper estimates the effects of materials and services offshoring on productivity in the Korean manufacturing industries from 2000 to 2009 using panel generalized method of moments. The production function has been employed in order to estimate the impact of both materials and services offshoring on industry-level productivity. The empirical results show that service offshoring has a significant positive effect on labor productivity, while materials offshoring has non-significant effect on labor productivity in Korean manufacturing. However, there is not enough evidence to suggest that total factor productivity of manufacturing sectors in Korea benefited from both materials and services offshoring. In particular, a positive link between trade specialization and productivity is non-significant in the Korean manufacturing industries over the sample period.

이 논문은 패널일반화적률법(Panel General Method of Moments)을 사용하여 2000-2009년간 한국 제조산업에서 원자재 및 서비스 오프쇼어링이 생산성에 미치는 영향을 추정한다. 원자재 및 서비스 오프쇼어링이 산업수준에서 생산성에 미치는 영향을 추정하기 위하 여 생산함수가 채택되었다. 실증적 결과는 한국 제조업에서 원자재 오프쇼어링은 노동생산성에 유의한 효과를 가지고 있지 않으나, 서비스 오프쇼어링은 노동생산성에 유의한 정(+)의 효과를 가지고 있음을 보여 준다. 그러나, 한국에서 제조부문의 총요소생산성은 원자재 및 서비스 오프쇼 어링 모두로부터 이익을 얻고 있다고 시사하는 증거는 충분하지 않다. 특히, 동 기간중 한국 제조산 업에서 무역특화와 생산성간의 정(+)의 연계는 통계적으로 유의하지 않다.
