본 연구는 효의 관점에서 외국인 며느리와의 갈등 및 스트레스가 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구 하였다. 연구에서 나타난 결과를 보면 외국인 며느리를 둔 시부모들은 효사상의 문화적 차이와 의사소통의 어려움으 로 우리나라 일반적 가정의 고부갈등과는 또 다른 스트레스로 인식되어 부정적 복지감이 중요한 사회적 이슈 로 대두될 가능성이 높다하겠다. 외국인 며느리를 둔 시부모는 남자보다 여자인 시어머니와의 갈등이 높게 나 타났으며, 문화적 스트레스와 의사소통 스트레스도 중요한 요인으로 인식되었고, 며느리와의 ‘동거’ 보다는 ‘ 비동거’시에 부정적인 복지감을 느끼고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 사회적 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 정책적 지원이 필요하며 외국인 며느리를 두게 된 시부모들에게 며 느리를 이해할 수 있는 며느리나라의 효 문화교육프로그램이 제공되어야 할 것이며, 외국인 며느리와 시부모 가 함께 참여하여 서로의 이해를 높일 수 있는 효 프로그램이나 레크리에이션 등을 제공하여 자녀의 사회성교 육도 제공되어야 하겠다. 또한 외국인 며느리에 대한 체계적인 국어교육프로그램을 제공하여 언어적 의사소 통을 증진시킬 수 있도록 교육자의 지속적인 관심과 참여가 요구 되며, 시부모와 며느리간의 갈등 및 스트레 스를 해소할 수 있는 상담 및 치료프로그램 등이 제공되어야 한다.
