This research tries to examine the Korean language Education problem and the direction for change according to instructors demand in Vietnam, where Korean Language Education is growing fast among South East Asian countries, and tries to find out a solution to maintain the Korean department within the new education policy of Vietnamese Ministry of Education. Vietnam has the greatest number universities with Korean language and Korean major departments among South East Asian countries. It is anticipated that interest and craze for Korean language will continue to increase by the influence of official economic and diplomatic relationship with Korea and the Korean wave. Therefore, this study tries to look carefully at the needs for Korean Education development by focusing on the needs of current Korean teachers at Vietnamese universities and tries to suggest a direction for improvement. It also tries to investigate a plan by Korean side to deal with the change in the education policy of Vietnam that requires at least three or more PhD or MA holders at all departments in order to increase the quality of Vietnamese education. It is believed that Vietnam will continue to stand high as a center for Korean education in South East Asia by the suggestion of an alternative support strategy to be taken by Korean universities and government institutions through this study so that the new education policy may not become an obstacle to the advancement of Korean language education.

본 연구는 동남아시아 국가 중에서 가장 빠른 속도로 한국어 교육이 발전하고 있는 베트남을 중심으로 교수자의 요구 사항을 분석하고 앞으로 베트남에서 한국어 교육의 양적, 질적 향상을 위한 방안을 모 색하여 보고자 하였다. 또한 베트남 교육부에서 교육의 질을 향상시키고 취업난을 해결하기 위하여 제시한 새로운 교육 정책 에 대하여 자세히 살피고 해결할 수 있도록 한국 정부 기관과 베트남 대학 자체 내에서 할 수 있는 중 장기 대책 마련을 위한 여러 가지 방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 방안들이 베트남 대학 내 시기적절하게 적용된다면 새로운 교육 정책이 원하는 방향으로 베트 남의 한국어 교육에 양적, 질적 성장이 있을 것이다. 나아가 앞으로 베트남의 대학도 자력(自力)으로 성장하고 동남아시아에서 가장 빠른 속도로 한국어 교육이 발전하고 있는 베트남이 걸림돌이 없이 한 국어 교육의 중심으로 우뚝 설 수 있을 것이라 본다.
