This is the study to find the reason of the necessity of Platonic love in the literature of Kierkegaard and Tokoku. In the long history in western world it has been said that lust of fresh can not be love. But they did not know the reason why lust can not be love. In the middle of 19 century Kierkegaard said that Adam had committed original sin by his sexual organ. Because of this affair sex became sin, not the act of love. This is the reason that Kierkegaard regarded pure love as true love between single man and woman. On the other hand Tokoku distinguished love from lust of fresh in the end of 19 century in Japan. Tokoku did not know the original sin but he also regarded only Platonic love as true love. Kierkegaard and Tokoku filled the role to make people wake up the true meaning of love by literatures and their life in the 19 century in west and east. Because only pure love can make peace.

본고는 평화를 잃어가는 19세기말의 유럽과 일본에서 저작활동을 한 기타무라 도코쿠와 키에르케고르 의 작품을 통해 양자의 순결관을 비교분석하여 정신적 사랑과 육욕과의 관계에 대해서 철학적으로 고찰함 으로써 연애가 순결해야 하는 이유에 대해서 밝힌 것이다. 육욕이 사랑이 아니라는 주장은 플라톤 이래 말해 져 왔지만, 키에르케고르는 육욕이 사랑이 아닌 이유를 아담이 성행위로 인해 범한 죄에 기인한 것으로 밝혔 다. 인간 조상의 성행위로 인한 죄 때문에 성행위가 사랑이 아니라 죄가 되었다는 것이다. 키에르케고르가 순결한 연애만을 사랑으로 보는 것은 이 이유 때문이다. 한편 도코쿠는 순결한 사랑만을 연애로 봤다. 순결 한 연애는 신(God)의 사랑에 이를 수 있다고 생각했기 때문이다.
