The purpose of this study is to search for the improving direction of regional economic cooperation through the analysis of industrial structure between great-sphere economic areas. There is a discussion on regional economic cooperation between Kyushu economic zone in Japan and Southeast economic zone in South Korea. This study intends to clarify how induce the interaction among industries in the two areas. The results of the analysis, the study comes to following conclusions. Firstly, industries in a great-sphere economic area is organically linked by the specialization coefficient. Secondly, there is a different in the growth factor of industries in a great-sphere economic areaFinally, the foundation industries are affected by economic structure of the local economy that has been formed historically and local economic policies from the central government. In order to grow in the regional economy by using the geographic features, the two areas need expanded authorities that allow them to set their own regulations in their industries and businesses. Therefore, the discussion on regional economic cooperation between two areas is meaningful because they try to construct their own competitiveness regardless of local economic policies from the central governments.

본 연구의 목적은 광역경제권 간 산업구조 분석을 통하여 지역경제 협력의 전개방향에 대해 조명 하는 것이다. 이는 한국의 동남경제권과 일본의 규슈경제권이 지역경제 협력을 위한 논의가 진행 되고 있는 상황에서 산업 간 상호작용을 어떠한 방향으로 유인할 것인지에 대해 시론적 분석을 통 하여 제시하려는 것이다. 분석 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출했다. 첫째, 특화계수에 의한 광역경제권 내의 산업구조가 유기적으로 연계되어 있다는 것이다. 둘째, 광 역경제권의 산업별 성장요인이 다르게 나타났다는 것이다. 셋째, 기반산업은 역사적으로 축적되어 온 지역경제의 경제력에 더해 중앙정부의 지역경제정책이 영향을 미쳤다. 동남경제권과 규슈경제권이 지리적 특징을 이용하여 지역경제 성장을 실현하기 위해서는 지역경 제에 중심이 되는 산업과 사업에 대해 독자적인 규범을 설정할 수 있도록 지방정부의 재량을 확대 할 필요가 있다. 이러한 측면에서 본다면 동남경제권과 규슈경제권의 지역협력에 관한 논의는 중 앙정부의 지역경제정책에서 벗어나 독자적 경쟁력을 구축하려는 데에 의미가 있다.
