Ship management industry which supervises ships on behalf of the owners to meetessential industry standards has grown in importance in global shipping these days. Around500 ship management firms were identified, and the number of foreign companies enteringKorean market is increasing. Despite this, this industry has received little attention fromacademic field. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to examine the importance offactors vitalizing ship management industry based on ODA(Official Development Assistance)by using SWOT analysis with Entropy method. The results of this analysis suggested usefulways to improve this industry including networking with universities in Korea for trainingmember staff and utilizing local governments, government network as well as PPP(PublicPrivate Partnership).
