The purpose of this study was to examine the change patten of new teacher’s job satisfaction and influence of predictable variables. The present study applied latent growth model to analyze the data, 2005GOMS which was collected annually between the year of 2006 to 2008 by the Korea Employment Information Services. The study defined a new teacher as one who graduated from university of education in the year of 2005 and became a teacher in 2006. The major findings of this study were as followings. First, the change pattern of new teacher’s job satisfaction showed a linear relationship. The new teacher’s job satisfaction decreased consecutively for three years. Second, usefulness of university education as well as university education satisfaction affected on the change of job satisfaction at the early stage of elementary teachers and they also reduced the decreasing job satisfaction. Third, gender affected initial job satisfaction. Female teachers were less likely to satisfied with their job than male ones. However, gender was not a statistically affecting factor on the change of job stratification of new teachers. Based on the those results, this study discussed the important role of university education on teacher development at the early stage.

교직은 우리나라 청소년들 사이에서 선망의 대상이 되는 직업 중 하나이다. 잇따른 경기침체의 여파로 졸업=취업이라는 인식 하에 교육대학의 입학율은 꾸준히 높아져 왔다. 그러나 교육대학을 졸업하고 학교 현장에 선 초임교사들은 대입과 임용이라는 관문을 통과하고도 또 다른 어려움에 봉착한다. 이에 본 연구는 초임 초등교사의 직무만족도 변화 패턴을 분석하고 개인 특성 및 대학교육의 영향을 검토하고자 하였다. 연구자료로 한국고용정보원이 2005년 졸업자를 대상으로 3년간 추적조사를 실시한 대학생직업이동경로조사 데이터를 활용하였으며 잠재성장모형을 적용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 초임교사의 직무만족도는 부임 후 선형적으로 감소하는 패턴으로 분석되었다. 성별, 대학교육의 유용성 대학교육만족도는 직무만족도의 초기치에 대해 통계적으로 유의하였지만, 감소 변화에 대해서는 대학교육유용성과 대학교육만족도만 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 대학교육의 유용성 및 교육대학의 만족도 제고의 중요성에 대해 논의하였다.
