The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of middle school level pre-service music teachers’ concerns about teaching practicum. Participants were 212 pre-service music teacher from 10 teacher’s college in Korea. The survey instrument contained items taken from previous questionnaire appropriate for teaching practicum. Data were coded using Spss 17.0. The survey focused on 6 parts as follwed: 1) teaching practicum operating system, 2) the method of selecting a cooperating school, 3) the environment and operating program of the cooperating school, 4) the usefulness of the environment and curriculum for the practicum, 5) the difficulties and concerns during the practicum period, and 6) the improvements and requirements for developing program. Analyses indicated that participants had a variety of concerns within each concern category specific to teaching practicum. Overall, there was an emphasis on the increase of the practicum period and credit for it, the change of the time of the practicum, the assigning of the number of the pre-service teachers and classroom hour per week, the need of observation class.

본 연구는 우리나라 예비음악교사들의 교육실습 실태 및 요구를 조사해 봄으로써 음악교육실습 프로그램 운영 실태등 현황을 파악하는 데 주목적을 두고 있으며, 궁극적으로는 이를 통하여 효과적인 예비음악교사의 전문성을 신장할 수 있는 음악교과를 위한 교육실습 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 전국 10개 사범대학에 재학 중인 예비음악교사를 주요 대상으로 선정하여 교육실습제도의 운영, 교육실습 대상학교 선정방법, 교육실습 대상학교의 환경 및 실습프로그램 운영 방법, 교육실습 환경 및 교육실습 관련 교육과정의 유용성 , 교육실습시 애로사항 및 중점실행사항, 프로그램 개발을 위한 개선사항 및 요구사항으로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문의 분석결과 예비음악교사들은 교육실습기간의 연장과 배당학점의 증가, 교육실습 시기의 조절, 적정한 교생인원배정과 수업시수, 교육실습전의 참관수업, 집중이수제에 따른 다양한 교수방법의 개발 등을 요구하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.
