Elementary music education stimulates aesthetic sensitivity during childhood through organized and systematic education, therefore, it is meaningful to provide various opportunities to experience music. So, music curriculum of National University of Education cultivating teachers teaching elementary music is very important. Accordingly, studies on this have been conducted many times. However, most programs developed were hard to apply to real classroom situations because they were 'essential learning content' that contracted as the minimum unit. Therefore, new programs should be created at the actual application stage, and there was a limit to apply standardized programs to all National University of Education in the nation. Hence, the current study aims to analyze curricula of music related subjects of National University of Education in 2010, and to suggest improvement measures by reviewing effectiveness and problems of the prior studies.

초등 음악교육은 아동의 성장기에 있어서 조직적이고 체계적인 교육을 통하여 미적감수성을 불러일으키는 교육제도로써, 무엇보다 음악을 접하고 경험할 수 있는 다양한 기회를 제공하는데 의의가 있다. 따라서 초등음악을 가르치는 교사를 양성하는 교육대학교의 음악과 교육과정은 그 역할이 매우 크기 때문에 이에 대한 연구가 앞서 여러 차례 진행되었다. 그러나 대부분의 개발된 프로그램은 현장에 적용하기에는 무리가 있었고, 최소단위로 축약시켜 놓은 ‘필수학습 내용’ 요소에 불과하여 실제적인 적용단계에서는 새로운 프로그램을 만들어야하는 어려움이 있었으며, 표준화된 프로그램을 전국 교육대학교에서 적용하기에는 한계가 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 2010학년도 교육대학교 음악관련 교과목들의 교육과정을 분석해봄과 동시에 지난 연구들에 대한 실효성을 되짚어 보고 문제점을 다시 조명하여 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
