As the 21st century becomes the high scientific technological and informative society, computers are very important for the adaptation for this society. Under these circumstances, it has become possible to explore ways of improving musical education through the use of advanced learning materials and methods. Use of musical learning materials in theme-oriented learning, helps students to express their unique musical awareness. In this way, students can acquire a wide range of information, learn to think comprehensively, beyond the limits of a given text, and discover fresh stimulation and motivation for their learning. This research project engages students in an activity whereby they choose a theme, collect related images and songs, and create a musical work of their own design. The aim of the research is to examine how to make the most effective use of musical media. The learning method was designed around the use of 'GoldWave' for the sound editing and 'MovieMaker' for the harmonious integration of music and images.

21세기 과학기술 문명과 고도의 정보화 사회로 변천되면서 컴퓨터는 이 사회의 적응을 위하여 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 흐름은 음악교육에서도 다양한 차원의 교수매체의 활용과 그 적용이 적극적으로 모색되어져야 한다. 음악교수 매체의 활용은 독특한 학생들의 감성을 보다 효율적으로 표현할 수 있게 하며, 음악의 효과적인 사용을 주제중심 학습과 함께 자연스럽게 표현할 수 있게 한다. 이는 폭넓은 정보를 습득하고 과목과 단원의 경계를 넘어서 통합적으로 사고할 수 있게 할 뿐만 아니라, 학습동기를 강화하여 보다 더 적극적인 음악활동을 할 수 있게 한다. 본 연구에서는 학생들이 스스로 주제를 정하고 그 주제에 의한 이미지를 수집하여 음악매체 활용의 방안을 찾으려 하였다. 이에 ‘GoldWave’는 소리의 효과적인 편집에 사용하였으며 MovieMaker는 음악과 이미지의 조화로운 표현에 매체 활용의 교수·학습 방안을 설계하였다.
